1.
Stillness 01:50
“Stillness, deep deep within us. In small beginnings it flows into the living waters. The ocean of God, through our stillness, God moves.”
2.
“Hold fast the hope, which anchors the soul, which is sure and steadfast, that you may float above the world’s sea. “
3.
“The wellsprings of life are bubbling up anew each moment (2x) So when the angel is troubling the water, it is no time to stand on the bank and recite past wonders.”
4.
The soul ever dwells in the presence of the Holy One.”
5.
True Manna 01:24
“There is a great difference, between comprehending the knowledge of things, and tasting the hidden life in them. I fed on the sweetness of the former, before finding the true manna of the latter.”
6.
"The streams of my Father’s [Mother’s] Love run daily through me, from the holy Fountain of Life to the seed throughout the whole Creation.”
7.
“Art Thou in the darkness? Mind it not, for if thou dost it will feed thee more, but stand still and act not, and wait in patience, till Light arises out of darkness and leads thee.”
8.
“There is a spirit that delights to do no evil, nor to revenge any wrong, it’s hope is to outlive all wrath and contention, and to weary out all exaltation and cruelty.”
9.
Keep Within 02:01
“Keep within. And when they say, ‘Lo[ok] here or lo[ok] there is Christ, go not forth, for Christ is within you. And those who try to draw your minds away from the teaching inside you, are opposed to Christ. For the measure’s within, and the light of God is within, and the pearl is within, though hidden.”
10.
“Christ near to all, the Light in all, the Seed sown in the hearts of all.”
11.
“I saw that there was an ocean of darkness and death, but an infinite ocean of Light and Love, which flowed over the ocean of darkness. In that I also saw the infinite love of God, and I had great openings.”
12.
“The surest dependence must be upon the Light of Christ within.”
13.
"No ear can hear, no tongue can utter, no heart can understand the refreshing of the Spirit of the Lord which now I feel.”
14.
“Neither activities nor possessions will ever be able to satisfy the spiritual longing radiating from our souls.”
15.
Seeds of War 02:30
May we look upon our treasure, our furniture and our garments, and try to discover whether the seeds of war are nourished by these our possessions.
16.
“There is a love begot in me, which is endless.”
17.
“Sing and rejoice, ye children of the day and of the Light, for the Lord is at work in this thick night of darkness that can be felt. And the truth doth flourish like the rose, and the lilies grow among the thorns, and the plants upon the hill, above them the lambs do skip and play, and never heed the tempests nor the storms, floods nor rains, for the seed Christ is over all and doth reign.”
18.
"The Lord is stretching forth the arms of everlasting Love, and gathering all who would come to the Fountain of Life.”
19.
Here is Joy! 02:12
“Here is joy, unspeakable joy, joy which the world cannot see or touch, nor the powers of darkness come near to interrupt, and this joy is full of glory. “

about

An inspiring collection of 19 chants composed from words of Quaker writers and leaders spanning the course of three centuries. The words reflect the contemplative wisdom of Quaker spirituality, which is at the root of Quaker practice of peace, integrity and steadfast faith in what they called "the power of the Light of Christ within." While this album has some songs similar to Paulette's first album of Quaker chants, sung in monophonic, a cappella style, most of the chants here are beautifully embellished with piano, bass and harmony vocals. Flute, cello and native flute are also part of the mix. Well-known contemporary teacher of the Christian Contemplative and Wisdom traditions, Cynthia Bourgeault, had this to say:

"Paulette’s chants open a door to the pearls of transformative wisdom waiting to be discovered in the Quaker mystical tradition. This new album sparkles with the message of joy and steadfastness, even in the midst of troubled seas. Concepts as subtle and challenging as inner stillness, non-attachment, and the inward Christ Spirit come powerfully alive through these mystical chants. One can drink these chants in, almost like an elixir of hope!"
